Garage door security is always important, but especially in winter. There are more opportunities for a door to get damaged, often by the harsh weather, so people need to be more vigilant in looking after them. These are two of the things you might want to do in order to look after your garage door:

• Keep the opening mechanisms working properly. Maintain the hinges and the runners, making sure there are no obstructions and they are well oiled.
• Look for any visible damage. If there is damage to the main part of the door, or it looks like somebody has tried to force the door open, get this looked at by an installation expert straight away. The door may need some maintenance.
